Hello, my name is Aaron Haines and I am an Assistant Professor of Vertebrate Biology at Upper Iowa University. My role here at UIU is one of a student mentor whom involves students in active and applied conservation projects to fuel their educational experiences. In the past, UIU students have been involved in using noninvasive techniques to monitor wildlife, analyzing spatial patterns of poachers, developing conservation websites for environmental education, and developing trail maps for local County Conservation Boards. My goal is to provide students the opportunity to apply the valuable knowledge gained in the classroom into projects that benefit our invaluable natural resources.
