On Thursday March 31st at 1:30 pm the Upper Iowa University Ecology Class conducted a successful 40 acre burn just south of the town of Hawkeye in Fayette, County.  This burn was to help maintain populations of native plant species for a conservation reserve program acreage.  Great help was also provided by Dana Franzen of the Red Buffalo Prescribed Burning Company.
